6th Anniversary Message from the CEO
Today marks a very special day for Hayman Microfinance as we celebrate our 6th anniversary. Hayman Microfinance started in 2015 and we went from a small-scale Microfinance Institution to one of the biggest names in the Microfinance Sector in Myanmar. We started our operations with one branch in Insein Township and now we are a 25-branch strong Microfinance Institution covering over 60 townships as our operation area.
However, firstly, I need to start with sad news. The management together with all of the Hayman’s team was very deeply saddened by the loss of one of our team members, U Zayar Myo Naing, Loan Officer of Bago Branch. His dedication and commitment during his time with Hayman was exemplary. The memory of U Zayar Myo Naing will never be forgotten.
Over the last 6 years, we have strengthened our business, building a customer base that is unique in our industry through organic growth and expansion. In the meantime, Hayman Microfinance has evolved to become one of the biggest MFIs in our industry, reaching a size and level of competence that addresses our customers' financial needs.
I would also like to congratulate our esteemed colleagues for this milestone and I am grateful for the chance to work with brilliant, devoted, and passionate people every day. Hayman's growth and progress would not have been possible without your dedication to putting our clients first and commitment to our corporate standards.
Our company went through the challenge of the pandemic last year and while there are lessons to be learned from the past, the resilience shown by our team members during the times of crisis are nothing short of extraordinary. One example of our team’s extraordinary efforts can be seen in the major milestone of Digital Transformation in Microfinance Industry set by our team last year. We were among the first to integrate daily tasks carried out by field officers into a mobile application. We rolled out Musoni Digital Field Application (DFA) to Loan Officers to improve efficiency of Loan Officers by digitalizing the core daily tasks typically carried out by field officers.
During 2020, along with social empowerment efforts aimed at the country's health issues, we have also kept our continuous course of donations toward the Education system with infrastructure donations to under-privileged public schools. Our outstanding CSR performance has also been recognized by Singapore Management University last year and they have also announced a dedicated case study on our CSR portfolio since then.
Despite recent challenges, we will continue to show resilience in the coming years through the power of passion and perseverance. We will continue being one of the pillars that lift Myanmar’s economy regardless of the various challenges standing in our way.
In conclusion, as Hayman celebrates its 6th anniversary, congratulations to our employees, customers, and partners who have helped us grow during the last 6 years. Let’s continue to shape the future together. Success begins here.
